" Sensus communis" seeks to provide a forum for scholarly international discussions of epistemological problems in the twenty-first century. Its point of departure is provided by the results of the new school of common sense, promoted by the Italian philosopher Antonio Livi, with contributions from some relevant American and European scholars. The studies of this school partially validate observations made by several modern and contemporary philosophers as Giambattista Vico (Italy), Claude Buffier (France), Thomas Reid (Scotland), Friedrich H. Jacobi (Germany), Charles S. Pierce (United States of America), Ludwig Wittgenstein (Austria). However, the work that still needs to be fullfilled is a complete critical foundation of the philosophical notion of 'common sense' through an analytical re-examination of all epistemological and metaphysical problems in the light of alethic logic. A critical history of philosophy, according to the method suggested by Étienne Gilson - will be employed in this research, together with the principles of classical first-order and second-order logic, and some original contributions of contemporary philosophy, such as 'bi-dimensional semantics' (Francesca Rivetti Barbò) and 'truth-value semantics' (Hughes Leblanc).
